I have written or edited seven books and many articles. Published books include (editor) Shakespeare and Religion: Global Tapestry, Dramatic Perspectives (Vernon, 2024); (author) Publishing Northanger Abbey: Jane Austen and the Writing Profession (Vernon, 2021), Common Sense in the Second Amendment (Universitas Press, 2020), and (co-author) The Female Precariat (Universitas Press, 2019). Previously ~fifteen years as freelance journalist in the Washington, D.C., region, print and online articles for general audiences, former blog at www.margieburns.com. Forthcoming: December, 2025, poetry chapbook, Renaissance Honky-Tonk Women (Penumbra Press).
